At the end
of 1997, Ma Lin was appointed as the new president of HSP by Beijing
Municiple Government. His background as an associate professor at
Tsinghua University and Vice-President of Haidian District made him an
ideal candidate.
Having a rich background in both research and management Ma Lin is
also an influential expert in enterprise finance, electronics
business, and higher education. Up to now he has been the only scholar
in Tsinghua University who has received an award from the Ministry of
Electronic Industry for his academic essays. He has been tirelessly
advocating the construction and application of e-Government during the
four years since taking this position.
